Happy Mother’s Day: Pregnancy Photos
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and expectant mothers out there! As a mother of four crazy kiddos, I know what it takes to be a mother, and I’ll be the first to admit it’s not easy. Cleaning up messes, playing taxi driver, barely making it through the grocery store alive, is a common everyday occurrence.
Having a moment to yourself is one of the most sought after things as a mother. I encourage you to give yourself that opportunity this weekend! Celebrate with family and friends, but make sure you take that time to enjoy yourself as well. Whether it’s on Sunday or you schedule a spa day on Tuesday, just make sure you do it, because boy do you deserve it.
I believe that by taking the time to take care of yourself you will be able to be that much better as a mother. If you pour into yourself, you can then pour into your children.
In honor of Mother’s Day, I wanted to share some of my favorite pregnancy photos. Taking maternity photos is such an honor of mine, and I’ve had the privilege of meeting some of the best moms in the world.
In Home Pregnancy Photos
I love in-home pregnancy photos because there is something beautiful about seeing the mother in the baby’s room, just waiting on the baby’s arrival. The baby’s room is decorated, cozy, and just resembles home. There is something even more special when it’s your first child.
You can see the excitement on this mother-to-be’s face. You know from that moment on, your life will never be the same. You have gone through your pregnancy classes, and have received advice from other moms, but that doesn’t completely calm the nerves. Every baby is different, and each mother’s experience is unique so there is only so much preparation you can do.
Once mother’s get into their third trimester, I think it’s safe to say, most woman are just ready to give birth. After bending over in the most awkward ways, carrying around the extra weight, swelling up, sleeping on your side only, mood changes and cravings, at some point you’re ready to just get back to normal.
Although pregnancy can be rough at some points, it doesn’t take away from the joy it is to create a life inside of you. Carrying that baby for nine months gives you an instant bond between you and your child. Feeling the kicks and turns inside of you, just reminds you of the miracle of children.
Outdoor Pregnancy Photos
Outdoor photos, are also a beautiful way to capture your pregnancy photos. Pregnancy is a natural part of life, and being out in nature just emphasizes this idea. Although this post is all about appreciating mother’s, let’s be honest and take this moment to give your husband some credit. We all know it’s not easy to put up with a pregnant wife, and this is why we will also appreciate the Father’s in a few weeks from now.
But, I do love when the father is also present for the photoshoot because this baby wouldn’t be possible without him. These parents are portraying unity in this photo. This pregnancy photo screams “baby, we love you, we can’t wait to meet you, to take care of you, to provide for you, and to love you no matter what.”
This photo captures natural light so well! It looks like the parents are glowing and I love this effect because naturally women do glow when they are carrying children. The pregnancy glow is one of the biggest benefits of pregnancy. The skin changes due to the increase of hormones, leaving you with that natural glow.
I feel like this photo captures just that. Mother’s don’t often get to be the spotlight. Most of the time, it’s their children, or all the hard work they do is behind the scenes. Mother’s deserve to get the spotlight on this sunday, and many other times throughout the year. If you are a mother, but you also have a mother, make sure she knows how much you appreciate her.
Thank You Mothers!
Mother’s deserve to be celebrated, because without them, new life wouldn’t be possible. If you’re a parent, you know that having children is one of the biggest joys in life. Creating another individual that is a mix between the two of you, is so special. And if you have multiple kids, it’s just fascinating to see how unique and different they call ll be, while being so similar to you at the same time.
In addition to the birth of the child, mothers are there for so much more. They offer constant encouragement, advice, and they’re there to just give you a hug when you need it the most. Mother’s are often stereotyped play the role of family chef, cleaning lady, and professional grocery shopper. Whether that is what your life looks like as mother, or not, you bring something to the table that no other woman or man could replace. It all goes back to that bond, that was created in the womb. Pregnancy photos capture this moment in time and are always fun to look back on. You will carry each baby differently and it makes it super fun to look back on these pregnancy photos and see what you looked like during these times.
Post pregnancy mothers are just as important and this photo captures the love between a son and his mother. During this stage, your child still has no shame in showing his mom some love, and mother’s you know you need to soak it up. Unfortunately the day comes, when they want to be independent. They will get embarrassed if you try to give them a huge or kiss, when they want to look cool in front of their friends.
Wrap Up
All in all, I just want the mothers to feel valued, important, and loved on this special day. If you have a mother in your life, or know a mom, wish them a happy mother’s day! Maybe treat them in some kind of way, it doesn’t have to be big. Mother’s if you are reading this and think these photos are just as special as I do,
